The Role

This role is working with Jewson part of the STARK Group. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftsmen who build, renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Tool Hire Driver to join us in Jewson Haslemere (GU27 1DB)!

Jewson provide a comprehensive and reliable Tool Hire offer to our customers. As a Tool Hire Driver, your role will be essential to keeping our branch and tool hire department running smoothly. This role has a strong focus on customer service, delivery and collection of hire equipment using our 3.5t delivery vehicles and general tool maintenance in the workshop.

Hours of work: 7:00am-17:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am-12:00pm every other Saturday

Is this role right for me?

Experience within our industry is not essential, we are committed to providing you with the full tools and support required to carry out your role within Jewson. Some specific skills and experience we are looking for:

• A keen interest in DIY or working with various tools at home on projects
• Customer service experience
• Experience repairing and maintaining tools in branch
• A full, clean driving license is essential for this role and experience driving a 3.5t van is preferable.

What will I be doing?

A Tool Hire Driver will be in regular contact with our customers and therefore play a huge part in delivering a fantastic customer experience. In order to support our customers and deliver a great service you will;

• Understand customer needs and provide proactive advice and solutions
• Organise and carry out tool hire delivery and collection keeping customers updated
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop
• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders
• Attach trailers and tow equipment to sites (trailer training will be provided)
• Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
• Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement
