About the business:
Our client is one of the UK’s leading will writing and estate planning firms. An established ABS structure with a great reputation in Private client services across the UK they are now seeking an experienced probate fee earner/case manager. The role will be based out of the offices in Worksop but all the colleagues work in a hybrid set up. Most employees do 2 days in the office 3 days out.
Key responsibilities:
Communicating and maintaining a relationship with clients and associates via letter, email, and telephone.
Collect relevant financial information in order for our solicitor to submit the probate application.
Liaise with solicitors in relation to the probate application and HM Revenue & Customs queries on taxable estates.
Collection or transfer of assets to the beneficiaries.
Handle the transfer or sale of the deceased property, to include liaise with estate agents, solicitors and Executors.
Have a full understanding of the administration of trust-based Wills including nil rate band trusts and interest in possession trusts. To also understand the tax consequences of these trusts.
Complete and submit relevant income tax returns.
Reconcile Executor accounts.
Draft and complete estate accounts, reconciled to the Executor account.
Obtain Executor approval of estate accounts.
Make adequate searches in order to settle the estate upon completion of the administration
To apply, you will be required to meet the following criteria:
Previous experience in the administration of estates both taxable and non-taxable, simple and trust based.
Experience in managing a full case load of files.
Previous experience in drafting Wills and Trusts.
Experience communicating with clients and third parties.
Preferably STEP or CILEX qualified or working towards the qualification.
