Background to the role: Our pensions team
Pinsent Masons LLP has one of the largest pensions law teams in the UK and advises clients on all non-contentious and contentious pensions law issues.
Our pensions team includes 19 partners and around 40 other lawyers, based in our offices across the UK. As well as day to day advice to pension schemes of all shapes and sizes, the team’s work includes:
We have a separate team of non-lawyers who provide governance, consultancy, secretarial and project management solutions for pension schemes and businesses.
We are Band 1 rated for pensions in the Legal 500 across all of our offices and teams and are committed to the pensions market for the long-term.
We are looking for an additional Practice Development Lawyer (PDL) who is keen to play an integral part in the team, supporting our lawyers and clients through best practice in knowhow, tracking and disseminating developments, high quality training and engagement with clients, industry bodies and events.
We are looking in particular for support in helping the team to respond to the changes associated with the consolidation currently taking place in the pensions market, so that we retain a market leading practice.
This could be a full or part-time role.
Background to the role: the team
The PDL will work closely with our existing pensions PDL team, our pension partners and other members of our pensions team, business development colleagues and members of our knowledge team. The pensions team has access to Perspective, PLC and Lexis.

to identify, and play a significant role in promoting, opportunities for generating revenue through chargeable products or services to shape and implement new and innovative practices, products and resources for clients and our lawyers and other fee earners to help maintain the profile of the pensions team by creating, or facilitating the creation of, high-quality technical material for clients and contacts to manage our internal know-how, lead on our response to new developments and assist with technical queries to support our relationships with clients through training, briefings and other activities.
