Graduate Underwriter residential property valuer and asset management

Our Client is a successful and expanding investment company encompassing 3 really strong brands within the UK property market.
They specialise in buying and selling primarily residential property.
With 45 employees and a constant drive to refine and expand their offering, they offer a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will be part of a collaborative and hard-working team.

Key tasks and role

Assisting with the underwriting of purchases of residential property investments by establishing current market value for residential property, in preparation for purchase and immediate resale or adding to the buy to let portfolio. This involves:

• Assessing properties at initial stages for valuation accuracy
• Review current marketing and recent sales in surroundings of subject properties
• Reviewing asset management reports and calling estate agents to best understand local market and comparable properties.
• Assessing risk for each property investment taking location, condition and legal aspects into account to understand saleability as well as value.
• Working with the sales and legal team to best understand the risk associated with each property.
• Discussing properties with auctioneers and requesting auction valuations.
• Helping to decide how to market each property to achieve the best outcome for the business.

Asset/property management of the current stock. This includes:

• Helping arrange properties in preparation for marketing
• Reviewing current marketing of our properties
• Helping the underwriting team with decision about accepting offers
• Assisting with sales progression and using the knowledge gained in the underwriting stage to generate the best outcome for each property
• Assisting with business decisions across the whole group using your knowledge and experience of UK residential property.

The Essentials:

• Recent Graduate with a desire to get into the world of residential property sales.
• An understanding of the UK property acquisition and sales process, asset/property management and residential lettings is a definite plus but not essential.
• You must have a real hunger to learn, to want to succeed and a drive to grow and progress.
• A fantastic attitude and great work ethic is essential.

Location

Full time office-based role near Liverpool Street, London working Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
