Enterprise Transformation (Asset & Wealth Management) Director- Alts

In support of unprecedented growth, PwC’s Consulting practice currently has a vacancy in its FS Enterprise Transformation team for a Director who will help lead the Asset Management Alternatives team.

Enterprise Transformation (ET) is at the centre of designing and implementing multi competency changes at the heart of our clients’ organisations through designing and implementing the right enterprise operating model or supporting them on their most complex of change programmes.

As a Director you are expected to manage your time between leading engagements, developing services to take to market and winning new business in the Asset Management Alternatives area.

Our client base covers a breadth of organisations spanning: Traditional and Alternative Fund Managers, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Fund Service Providers (Administrators, Transfer Agents, Depositaries), Prime Brokers and Custodians. These are primarily large multinational organisations who are leaders in their respective markets. We support our clients through fundamental change of their businesses. Example engagements include:

• Programme managing, designing and building the world’s largest PE fund (awarded the Management Consulting Association’s Change Project of the year)
• Strategic review of the operating model for one of the largest global Alts firms – Potential redesign options to deal with both new asset classes, huge growth and expansion to new geographies, incorporating detailed review of the investor, deal and fund lifecycles, and defining the sourcing strategy for outsourced providers and fund administrators
• Efficiency review for a leading global PE fund followed by data strategy and automation implementation
• Design of a new SWF from day 1 (SAA) to target state (full capabilities)
• Design of the operating model and underlying policies and processes for a new SWF Infrastructure fund
• ‘Fit for growth’ review of a European PE fund to identify the scalability challenges and required projects to enhance the operating model
• Reviewed the operating model of a global listed alternative credit firm – undertaking a detailed activity based review and establishing required efficiency initiatives (Sourcing strategy, TPA consolidation, System requirements, workflow, organisational change)
• Set up of a new Latin America focused fund with a focus on operating model and Finance function
• Operating model review of the Real Estate investment business for the EMEA arm of a global listed alternatives firm

You will be a part of a specialist team, within the wider Financial Services cluster, and would be encouraged to initiate, develop and deliver new ideas. • Delivery
  • Lead entire engagements which involve designing enterprise operating models and delivering enterprise transformation change projects to a high standard
  • Ensure the engagements are staffed appropriately, manage day to day issues and deliverables are of the very highest quality
  • Build trusted relationships with the client engagement sponsors and stakeholders
• Development
  • Lead one of our client service offerings within Enterprise Transformation focused on Alternative Asset Management
  • Contribute to our continued thought leadership to ensure that appropriate solutions are developed for our clients
• Commercial
  • Lead business development activities in your subject matter expertise
  • Leverage your market network of relationships with our key clients
  • Identify client needs and lead proposed solutions
  • Be responsible for managing the financial aspects and achieving the core business KPIs of the engagement

Requirements Joining our team as a Director, we would expect you to have very strong experience of operating model design and large change projects preferably within a consulting environment or leading asset management focused business with previous consulting experience. You will have been able to demonstrate a track record of high-quality design and delivery success in the work you have undertaken to date and be able to articulate the business benefits of the work. The key requirements of this role include:

• Track record of finding and winning new business
• Experience of leading RFPs and operating model / change for large complex alternatives firms
• Proven track record and understanding of running a consulting engagement from proposal through to risk management, project mobilisation, deliverable visualisation and storyboarding, data gathering and analytics, deliverable finalisation and syndication in the client.
• Experience working in a program management role on a large transformation project that involves looking at the end to end operating model of an alternatives client
• Working with the requirements gathering and selection of Alternative industry systems
• Experience in leading the documentation of business flows, functional models and other operating model artefacts
• Experience in designing, organising and leading workshops with clients

Preferred

• Experience of sourcing strategy, selection and migration / outsourcing to a third party administrator and understanding of the alts TPA landscape

• Proven ability as a program manager in client engagement projects involving Alternative industry systems such as: E-Front, Investran, Yardi, Allvue, Dynamo or similar packaged software systems
• Implementation experience of workflow platforms in the alts lifecycles (deal, fund, investor) e.g. Appian, Unqork
