Conveyancing Assistant

Talent-UK are recruiting on behalf of our client. Our client is an outstanding law firm with branches across Yorkshire.

Due to head count increase our client is looking to recruit a full time permanent conveyancing Assistant to work across 2 locations in West Yorkshire.The hours of work are full time Monday to Friday. As this role is across 2 of our clients sites, you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.

The role:

• Answer the phones and deal with providing updates to clients referrers and any other relevant parties.
• Update portals where necessary.
• Give estimates of costs to clients and referrers.
• Open files and carry out ID checks and to send initial funds on account letters. Assist clients with using the Legal Bricks portal where necessary.
• To deal with dictation or tasks given to them by the fee earner they are working for. To include sending standard letters or bespoke letters as per fee earner requirements.Obtain copy title and draft and issue contract packs. To apply for searches and carry out map searches.
• To check lender portals regularly for mortgage offers.
• To set files up for completion and carry out final checks.
• Where necessary update lender portals with final search results and to request mortgage monies.Produce e chits for completion monies on both sales and purchases to include the sending of redemption monies, client monies estate agents fees and referral fees the sending of purchase monies.To ensure completion packs are properly marked and sent to a partner and accounts in plenty of time for completion.
• To update and keep updated the completions diary.
• Where necessary to request Help to Buy or Lifetime ISA money and to update the help to buy system post completion.
• The submission of SDLT forms and payment of Stamp Duty.
• Put in place and pay for indemnity policies.
• Prepare the files for post completion department.
• Check the ledger and deal with balances.
• Where appropriate deal with balances and close.

Candidate requirements:

• A Minimum of 12 months experience within Conveyqancing
• Able to use the following systems-Quill, Legal Bricks, LMS, Lender, Exchange and ULS, Land Registry, HMRC
• Reliable & punctual
• Flexibility is required as you will be required to work across dual sites
• Polite
• Prioritise workloads
• Remain calm
